Starting August 2008, we will NOT be scheduling Hedgehog visitiation days. We are in the process of building and moving. Once we are setup again, we will resume visitation days. PEH receives many requests from people wishing to come visit with our hedgehogs before they commit to purchasing one. However, since we are not a Pet Store open to the public, and because of time constraints involved for us to comply with the many requests we receive, visitation days are scheduled ONLY with people whom have already PAID DEPOSITS.
We allow up to 4 people on your Pet Hedgehog Visitation. All visitors must all be at least 6 years old or older and able to sit quietly. Please no younger children since we will not be able to sit and discuss the topic of hedgehogs without many interruptions. We never not allow visitors into the hedgehog breeding area, because mother hedgehogs are very tempermental around their babies. Most of the time we have too many nursing mothers to risk bringing in new smells, noises, and other possibly disturbing things that might cause the mothers to abandon their litters (or worse).
Therefore, we will bring a few hedgehogs into our living room (or outside) for visitors to meet. If you have already chosen a hedgehog and paid the full balance due, we MIGHT consider bringing that baby out for your observation. This will depend on the mothers attitude and the current status of the baby. It must be at least 4 weeks old and eating solid foods. If the baby is still dependant on it's mother, the baby will not be disturbed.
If you have already placed a deposit, then you may email us to find out our availablity. Because we are NOT a public Pet Store, there may be times that a Hedgehog Visitation cannot be scheduled. Please specify 'HEDGEHOG VISITATION REQUEST' in the subject line, or your e-mail may be deleted before it is ever read. Allow 5 days to respond.
